🦎 “Adopt-and-Learn” Animal Experience at Raging Reptiles
Bring home a new pet and the knowledge to care for it the right way! Our new Adopt-and-Learn program pairs the excitement of choosing an animal with a one-hour, hands-on master class that teaches you everything you need to know about its care.
How It Works
- Step 1: Choose Your Animal – We currently offer Crested Geckos and Gargoyle Geckos (with more species to come).
- Step 2: Take Our 60-Minute Class – Learn directly from our educators:
- Species overview – type of animal, natural habitat, behavior
- What it eats and how often to feed it
- Proper heating and UVB lighting
- Life cycle and growth stages
- Enclosure set-up and daily care tips
- How to handle and interact safely
- Step 3: Take Home the Complete Starter Package – Everything you need is included:
- Your new animal
- A properly sized enclosure
- Substrate
- Water and food bowls
- Décor and enrichment items
- Starter supply of food
- Diploma of Completion – showing you’ve graduated our care course

Each merit badge program includes:
- Hands-On Education: Live animals and interactive activities led by licensed educators.
- Merit Badge Requirements: Activities designed to meet or support official BSA badge requirements.
- Flexible Locations: Come to our Manassas Mall facility or we’ll travel to your troop’s meeting place or campout.
- Group Pricing: Affordable rates for troops and councils.
Typical Workshop Length: 60–90 minutes (can be adapted for day-long events).
